Yann Guitton’s “Outsized Artifacts” take historic extinct banknotes and other small paper memorabilias as their starting point, recreated in monumental scale and exacting detail. Guitton’s process replicates every marking, scar and fissure that the note has taken on during its life.

The resulting ‘outsized artifacts’ become a new kind of object simultaneously evoking the historic conditions of their origin as well as the nature of time passing, longevity, endurance, and resilience.
