GILLES GRIMON
Born in Paris, Gilles Grimon has had a succcessful career as an illustrator. He made numerous covers for magazines and worked for edition and advertising. He then decided to dedicate himself to painting. He lives and works in Provence, after a few years in London and Milan.
His big oil -painted portraits are the result of numerous superimpositions: the same face is painted each time with a different color and pattern, so becoming dependent of the one he recovers.
The consequence is a plastic contradiction which prevents the eye from choosing between pattern and volume and makes it sway, creating a vibration beyond the subject and the surface.
